Pride relies hugely on the support of volunteers and recognises that they are an enormous resource in helping the organisation meet it's aims and put on a safe and enjoyable range of events.

We are looking to attract a large range of volunteers from all sections of the community for 2011 and are especially keen to really diversify our volunteer workforce.

This year we are particularly proud to have the Ford Motor Company sponsoring our volunteering activities.

Volunteering for Pride

An estimated 200-250 volunteers helped out last summer at the Main Park event and Pride Parade. These included Volunteer Wheel Stewards for the Parade, Events Assistants working at the park who undertook a range of tasks to ensure the day ran smoothly as well as Parade Health and Safety Checkers. 

But we also need volunteers who are able to commit on a longer term basis to help Pride meet its aims and objectives all year round. Under this heading we are looking for volunteer co-ordinators, to help recruit and manage the events volunteers, and events runners who will be involved in all the nitty gritty organisation that takes place throughout the year, and especially in the run up to the summer events.
