Summer Pride 2010
The summer festival week is Saturday 31st July - Sunday 8th August 2010. The Pride Parade and main park event in Preston Park is on Saturday 7th August 2010.
Q. What time is the main event at Preston Park?
- 12noon - 8pm
Q. How much is it?
- Pride in Brighton and Hove is a free event, but please donate as much as you can to the official bucket collectors on the park, to help Keep Pride Free.
Q. What should I bring with me?
- Please make sure you check the weather forecast to plan your day and your bag! Make sure you bring plenty of water (there is a free water at the park), either high factor sun block or a rain mac are a must and leave your valuables at home.
Q. Is there a VIP bar and how do I get tickets?
- There is no longer a VIP bar area, instead there is a Pride members' area. Entry on the day is free to all Pride members, or alternativley for a day fee of £30. To become a member of Pride see the members page. It's worth it.
Q. Can I bring a guest into the members' area?
- No, your Pride membership only grants you access to the members' area. Your guest would need to be a Pride member or pay the day fee of £30.
Q. Are dogs allowed on Preston Park?
- Yes, but they need to be kept on a lead at all times and cleared up after properly.
Q. Is glass allowed on Preston Park?
- No and we WILL CONFISCATE IT.
Q. Can I get cash at Preston Park?
- There was a bank of cash points in the centre of the park in 2009, we hope the same service will be available this year. Check back for details.
Q. Are there parking facilities at Preston Park?
- No, we recommend you don't bring your car as there is very limited public parking around the park which is a residential area of Brighton.
Q. Is there disabled parking?
- Yes. Pride works closely with Brighton & Hove Federation of Disabled People to make our event as accessible as possible. Information and registration for disabled parking will be available on their website nearer the time.
Q. Is there coach parking at Preson Park?
- No. There is a special designated area on Maderia Drive for coach parking. You must be there before 9.30am.
Q. What buses go to Preston Park?
- There is a special Pride shuttle bus service, operated by Metro Bus (who also sponsor Pride), from the Old Steine to Preston Park running throughout the day, this bus is not affected by the suspensions. All regular bus services are suspended between 11am and 2pm (5, 5A, 5B, 86, 87 and 88).
Q. How do I become a volunteer?
- Preston Park could not happen without the support and dedication of our volunteers, if you would like to help please have a look at the volunteers page.
Q. If I only do one thing on the park what should it be?
- Throw some money in the buckets, official Pride collectors will be at the park all day and your donations help Keep Pride Free.
Q. Where should I go after Preston Park?
- All of the venues in and around the gay village will be busy and there will be something for everyone, check out our whats on page for a list of events during the weekend, all of which are supporting Pride.

Q. What is the theme of the 2010 Pride Parade and festival?
- Pride and (No) Prejudice
Q. What time does the Pride Parade set off from Maderia Drive?
- 11am.
Q. What is the Pride Parade route?
- From Maderia Drive along the seafront, up West Street to the clock tower, and then right down North Street, turning left again on to the Old Steine and onwards to London Road all the way to Preston Park.
Q. How do I become a steward?
- If you would like to be a volunteer steward please contact the Pride office by email or call for more information.
