HOW TO….. GET INVOLVED IN PRIDE IN BRIGHTON & HOVE
Pride is made by the people who get involved! Come along to learn about how to get involved- whether by putting on an event, organising a Carnival Parade float, having a stall or tent on Preston Park, volunteering or any other way you want to help make Pride happen!
Done it all before? Pride invites you to come and share your experiences, pass on your knowledge to ‘newbie’s’ and help create Pride spirit in April.
Event details: Monday 6th April, 6pm-8pm, The Queens Hotel, 1 Kings Road, Brighton, East Sussex, BN1 1NS. The venue is fully accessible; however please contact the Pride Office if you have any special requirements.
Please contact the Pride office if you want to come on 01273 775939 or email: office@brightonpride.org
PRIDE NEEDS YOU
Once again, Pride is looking to recruit volunteers to help at all its events this year. Volunteering for Pride is very rewarding, a great way to meet new friends and, most importantly, helps keep Brighton Pride a free park event. Pride is looking for:- Bucket Collectors to help raise much needed funds
- Volunteer wheel stewards for the Carnival Parade
- Young volunteers (age 16-25) for an exciting one-off project between May and September
- Events’ Assistants working at Preston Park, who will undertake a range of tasks to ensure the day runs smoothly
- Parade Health and Safety checkers
As well as these roles Pride also needs volunteers who are able to commit on a longer-term basis. Pride is looking for:- Volunteer coordinators
- Events runners
No experience is necessary for the roles as full training will be given. This is a great chance to meet new people, gain some experience and see Pride from a different angle. It is estimated that Pride will need between 150 and 200 volunteers, although most of these will be on Saturday 1st August at Preston Park and during the Carnival Parade Pride really needs your help now.
If you are interested in volunteering with Pride you can fill in an application form on the Pride website www.brightonpride.org or email the Pride office at office@brightonpride.org or ring us on 01273 775939 for information or for a paper copy of our application form.
