Travel
On Pride Day, August 7th 2010, the best way to get to Brighton from London is by rail or coach.
We really don't want you to bring your car into town, parking is limited and there will be various road closures and diversions in operation on Saturday 7th August - to be announced.
Follow the links below to help you plan your trip to Brighton by rail, coach, plane or if you really have to car:
BY BUS
Normal bus services will be diverted away from Preston Park all day. To get to and from the park, Metro Bus are providing a special limited stop shuttle service, route 500, running up to every 4 minutes between 1.15pm and 9.20pm. Pick-ups towards Preston Park are at stops S (Opposite Rvenge) and D in the Old Steine (close to The Pier and St James's Street). The return journey leaves the main road at Preston Park's south entrance. Please note that concessionary passes and Brighton and Hove Buses' Saver Tickets are not valid for travel. Click here to see the Metro Bus route 500 and 600 (servicing the campsite) timetable.

Road Closures on Sat 7th August
During the Parade the route and its side road junctions will be closed to traffic. For the majority of the route the side roads and the route itself will be reopened to normal traffic as soon as the Parade passes. There are however some traffic measures that will continue through the afternoon until the event at the park concludes at approx. 8.30pm. These includes:
- Northbound traffic leaving the Old Steine area of the City will be diverted along the A270 Lewes Road to join the A27 Brighton Bypass via. Coldean Lane and Old Boat Corner interchange. The section of the A23 London Road / Preston Road between St. Peters Church (A23 / A270 split) and Preston Village will be closed to general traffic from prior to the parade to approx. 8.30pm.
- Southbound traffic coming into the City using the A23 will be diverted at Preston Village either via. Preston Drove to Fiveways and into the City using Ditchling Road or via. South Road to Dyke Road for access to the City Centre and Hove. An additional southbound diversion will be in place at the London Road / Carden Avenue junction to direct traffic via. Carden Avenue, Coldean Lane and into the City via. A270 Lewes Road. This will be used if the diversion at Preston Village backs up.
- Eastbound Traffic emanating from Seven Dials and Old Shoreham Road heading for Preston Circus will be diverted onto Dyke Road (northwards) to the A27 Brighton Bypass.
